A new generation of map apps

Every map you publish is now built in a new way, and it shows from the first second.

Readable before the map starts

A published app now loads as complete pages. The text of every place is there before the map has finished drawing, so visitors can start reading straight away, and search engines can read every place too.

Places can be areas

A place doesn't have to be a pin any more. Draw a box, a shape or a circle to mark out a park, a festival field or an exhibition hall.

Your color, all the way through

Pick an accent color for your app and it runs through the whole thing: buttons, links and pins. Where a color would be hard to read, Mapifest adjusts its shade so text stays legible.

A new set of icons

Our old marker icons have made way for a set of 200 hand-picked, openly licensed icons, designed for maps.

• A place's card shows all of its photos as a gallery, and its audio plays as a playlist that keeps going on the lock screen.
• Each place card says how far away it is.
• The app tells visitors when it has been updated.
• The messages you send now appear inside the app as well.
• Descriptions can include tables.

We also put work into accessibility: Mapifest apps comply with WCAG 2.1 AA and the European accessibility standard EN 301 549.
