Mapifest

Mapifest at Web Summit 2025

Last week we were at Web Summit in Lisbon, showing Mapifest and talking about what it is for. If we didn't get the chance to talk, here's the short version.

Places first

Mapifest turns places into a map app. You mark the spots that matter, whether that's a festival's stages, a city's sights or the stops on a walk, and give each one an icon, a description and pictures. Then you publish, and the result is a map app with an address of its own.

Nothing to install

The people using your map open it from a link, in the browser they already have. There's no app store, no download and no account. The map shows them where they are, and every place is a tap away.

That's the gap we want to fill. Events and destinations usually choose between a PDF map that is hard to read on a phone and a native app that few people install for a weekend. A map app that opens from a link sits in between, and it's quick to make.

Say hello

Lisbon was a great place to tell that story. If you have a place worth mapping, we'd love to hear about it: get in touch.
